Eligibility:
I) Students seeking admission to the M.Sc. degree course in Organic Chemistry shall have passed B.Sc. in Chemistry with minimum 50% marks in aggregate at first attempt (45% marks in case of reserved category).
II) Every student admitted to the degree course in institute/affiliated colleges/recognized institutions conducting the course, shall have to register himself/ herself with the University.

MASTER OF SCIENCE – (Organic Chemistry by Research) - Duration : 2 Years
Compulsory Paper : Organic Chemistry

Thesis for Evaluation
The thesis for evaluation shall be submitted in triplicate by the guide and Principal to the University of Mumbai.

M.Sc. – Organic Chemistry (By Paper)
Admission Procedure
1. M.Sc. Part I / II admission will be as per directives issued by the University of Mumbai from time to time.
2. 20 Seats (Including University and College Quota) are available for M.Sc. Part I / II.
3. Students seeking admission to the M.Sc. Degree course in Organic Chemistry shall have passed B.Sc in Chemistry with minimum 50% marks in aggregate at first attempt (45% marks in case of reserved category).
4. Student passing an examination B.Sc. in Chemistry from other University and immigrating from other University seeking admission to M.Sc. Part I or the two years integrated Master of Degre course will be admitted only on production of a “Provisional Eligibility Certificate” issued by the University of Mumbai. Such students should submit a Migration Certificate, Statement of Mark and Passing Certificate in original along with true copies within two months from the date of admission, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled.

 

M.Sc. – Chemistry (By Research)
Admission Procedure

3. Students seeking admission to the M.Sc degree course in Chemistry by research shall have passed B.Sc. in Chemistry with minimum 50% marks in aggregate at first attempt (45% marks in case of reserved category).
4. Student passing an examination B.Sc. in Chemistry from the other University and immigrating from other University seeking admission to the M.Sc. Part I or the two years integrated Master of Degree course will be admitted only on production of a “Provisional Eligibility Certificate” issued by the University of Mumbai. 5. A Student has to appear for an interview for admission as per the directives of the University.
6. After selection, the student has to pay admission fees to the college.
7. A student has to prepare the research proposal under the guidance of research guide duly signed by him and research guide and to be submitted to the University for Topic Approval.
8. Once the topic is approved by the University, the student has to register for M.Sc.

Ph.D. Courses
Procedure for Registration of Admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Chemistry
Admission Process :-
Application and Interview
a) Candidates who desire to register for the Ph.D. degree and have passed the entrance test (PET) conducted by the University of Mumbai and who are exempted from the test under clause No.9 of this VCD, shall apply in the prescribed form and submit it along with a demand draft/cash of `100 to the concerned recognized Research Centre of University of Mumbai within fifteen working (15) days from the date of the declaration of the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET)results.
b) After scrutiny of applications received, the Head of the Research Centre shall invite the eligible candidates for subject-wise interviews by giving 10 days notice after the last date of application. A list of eligible candidates who are also invited for interviews shall be displayed on the notice board.
c) The Head of the research centre shall constitute subject-wise interview committees to interview the candidates who have passed the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET). The committee shall be constituted as per the guidelines given below. The quorum for the meeting of the committee shall constitute one subject expert, the Research Guide and the Head of the Department. In case of vacancies for reserved candidates, one approved teacher (not below the rank of Reader) from the reserved category of the concerned faculty is mandatory.
